Funeral services were held for William Gebauer Friday afternoon at the Reformed Church.

Mr. Gebauer was born at Eich....estfalen, Germany, Aug. 26 .... In 1904 he was married to Henrietta Romberg and they came to America settling in Alton. Mr. Gebauer worked for the railroad for 29 years and later engaged in gardening.

Surviving are Mrs. Gebauer and nine children: Mrs. Claude Bills of Newton; John, Adrian, Minn.; Mrs. Gerald Weis of Dubuque; Henry, Akron; Ralph, Orange City; William, Jr., Alton; Julius and Gustave, Long Beach, Calif. and Mrs. Eugene Klein, Alton. Also 26 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild and two brothers and four sisters in Germany. All of his children and many of the grandchildren were here for the funeral.
