TRACTOR KILLS IRETON YOUTH - Daryl Franke, 23 year old son of Mr. & Mrs. Elmer Franke of near Ireton, was instantly killed in a tractor accident near the John H. Dekker farm Wednesday of last week.

The youth was crushed beneath the tractor when it overturned in a ditch three miles east and one-half mile north of Ireton.

Daryl was born May 7, 1934 at LeMars and was baptized June 24, of that year. He was confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Ireton May 25, 1947. He attended rural schools in Sioux County and graduated from Ireton high school in 1951.

At the time of his death he was associated with his father in farming near Ireton.

He is survived by his parents; his paternal grandfather, Henry Franke; three sisters, Marjorie, Marilyn and Marlys, and one brother, Dean.

He was preceded in death by a baby sister.

Funeral services were held Saturday at St. Paul's Lutheran church with Rev. Paul Friedrich officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Hill cemetery at Ireton.

Johnston of Lincoln, Neb.; Mr. & Mrs. Raymond Johnston of Austin, Minn.; Paul Lehrman of Stanwood, IA.; Herbert Lehrman of Olin, IA; Virgil Heidbrink of Chicago and Mr. & Mrs. Art Henry of Oceanside, Calif.
