Ronald Van Meekeren, age 72, of Sheldon, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, August 15, 2010, at Sanford Sheldon Senior Care in Sheldon.

Memorial Services will be Thursday, August 19, 2010, at 11:00 A.M. at the First Christian Reformed Church in Sheldon. Rev. Kevin Muyskens officiating.

Burial at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, August 19, at East Lawn Cemetery in Sheldon.

Visitation will be Wednesday, August 18, from 1:00 to 8:00 P.M. with the family present from 6:30 to 8:00 P.M. at the Andringa Funeral Home Sheldon Funeral Service in Sheldon.
Ronald Van Meekeren was born on February 19, 1938, in rural Sanborn, Iowa. He was the son of Jake and Winnie Van Meekeren. He live his youth in rural Sanborn. He attended the Sheldon Christian Grade School in Sheldon, Iowa.
He was united in marriage to Louetta Bynes of Orange City, Iowa, on July 17, 1970, in Orange City. Ronald farmed on the family farm in rural Sanborn where they lived until moving to Sheldon.
He was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church in Sheldon. Ron enjoyed camping and fishing with the family and spending time at the lakes in the summer. He was very family oriented. The grandchildren especially enjoyed camping with Grandpa and Grandma. Ron and Louetta also enjoyed traveling and spending the winters in Mesa and Apache Junction, Arizona.
He passed away on Sunday, August 15, 2010, at Sanford Sheldon Senior Care in Sheldon.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of 40 years: Louetta Van Meekeren of Sheldon, IA; one daughter and son-in-law: Lisa and Steve Antrim and their daughter: Lilah Antrim of Sioux Falls, SD; son and daughter-in-law: Ryan and Emily Van Meekeren and their children: Chicago Stefani, Micah MacRunnels, and Mercedes Van Meekeren of Sioux Falls, SD; one brother and sister-in-law: Clarence and Jean Van Meekeren of Okoboji, IA; two sisters and brother-in-law: Bertha Van Meekeren of Sanborn, IA, Martena and Garret Doorlag of Portage, MI.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters: Agnes Zordraager and Marion Hubers.
