Margaret Ristow, 83, Hawarden, died Tuesday, May 5, 1992, at the Hass Hillcrest Care Center, Hawarden

Funeral services were Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic church in Hawarden. Rev. Edmond Adams officiated. Burial was hi Grace Hill Cemetery under direction of Dow-Porter Funeral Home, Hawarden.

Mrs. Ristow, the former Margaret Koob, was born Dec. 17, 1908, in Tetange, Luxemburg, daughter of John and Susan (Redding) Koob. She came to the United States with her family and settled at Hawarden ,in 1912. She graduated from the School in 1927, and Westmar College in Le Mars. She taught in rural schools .near Hawarden and later at Chatsworth. She taught at West Sioux Junior High School at Hawarden before retiring in 1974.

She married Otto Ristow, Aug. 14, 1950 at Worthington, Minn. He died March 12, 1954. Mrs. Ristow was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church in Hawarden; the Hawarden American Legion Auxiliary; and was a lifetime member of the Iowa Association.

Survivors include three sisters-in-law, Mrs. John Koob of Mesa, Ariz., Mrs. Emil Koob of Greeley, Colo., and Mrs. Joe Koob of Hawarden; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother, Joseph; and brothers, John, Emil, Bernie, Bob and Joe.
