Brunetta A. Gacke, 86, Garretson, a resident of Rock Valley for many years, died Sunday in McKennan Hospital, Sioux Falls.

Brunetta Van Mispelaar was born Aug. 20, 1899, in Hospers, Iowa. She graduated from St. Anthony's School in Hospers. In 1917, she moved to Rock Valley and worked for the telephone company.

She married William Gacke Nov. 20, 1922, in Rock Valley. They farmed near Hospers from 1923 to 1945 and then moved to Rock Valley where she worked as a seamstress.

She moved to Sioux Falls in 1954 where she worked for Fantle' Department Store for many years. She moved to Palisades Manor in Garretson in April.

Her husband died in 1962.

Survivors are two sons: Reginald, Omaha, Neb.; and LeRoy, Sioux Falls,; a sister, Mrs. Jacoba Krier, Bridgewater; 8 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.

Funeral Mass was at 2 P.M., Thursday, September 19 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Rock Valley. Burial was at the parish cemetery.

Rosary was on Wednesday at Porter Funeral Home, Rock Valley.
