Fylstra, Mrs. Ryn (Effie) - 1876-1953

Mrs. Ryn Fylstra was born in Friesland, Netherlands, February 19, 1876 and came to America at the age of 16 years. Three years later Effie Eppinga was married to Ryn Fylstra by Rev. Kriekard, pastor of the First Reformed Church in Hull. This month they would have commemorated their 58th wedding anniversary. Mrs. Fylstra died November 27, at her home in Hull.

Funeral services were held Tuesday from the home at 1:00 P.M., and 1:30 from the Christian Reformed Church with Rev. Van Deelen officiating.

Surviving are the husband, 3 sons and 7 daughters. They are: Peter of Sioux City; Nellie, Mrs. R. Van Dyk of Artesia, Calif.; Margaret, Mrs. G. Bekuis of Minneapolis, Minn.; Sam, Katie and Orrie of Hull; Anna, Mrs. Art Kruisenga of Maurice; Effie, Mrs. Wm. Ver Meer, Middleburg; and Rena, Mrs. Sam De Boer, Pease, Minn. Twenty-six grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and 2 brothers, Andrew Eppinga of Grand Rapids, Mich. and Jake Eppinga of Rock Valley also survive.

Pall bearers were Hilbert Oelen, Ralph De Vries, Jake Elbers, Ed Dykstra, Richard Visser and Case Van Ginkel.
