Robert A. Hemmingson, 70, of Bremerton, Wash., and formerly of Ireton, died Wednesday, March 4, 1992, at Harrison Memorial hospital in Bremerton.

Services were Saturday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Bremerton. Miller-Woodlawn funeral home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Hemmingson was born and raised in the Ireton area. During World War II, he served in the navy and remained in the Bremerton area after the war. He married Lou Rasmussen April 17, 1958. He was employed for 38 years as a shipwright in the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, retiring in 1979.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Dennis Rasmussen, Robert Hemmingson and Brad Hemmingson, all of Bremerton; his mother, Louise Hemmingson of Ireton; a sister, Loris Walker of Ireton; a brother, Lee Hemmingson of Le Mars; seven grand- children; and one great-grandchild.
