Mr. Aalt Franken passed away Monday morning at 8:45 A.M., following a years illness with cancer. Funeral services will be held Friday at 12:30 from the home and 2 o'clock in the Old Reformed Church. Rev. J. Van Zweden of Passaic, New Jersey will officiate.

Aalt Franken was born april 15, 1868 and died on October the 26th, 1942. Survivors include four children, Ella Altena, Aart Franken, Maurice; Ida Bruinsma of Esteline, S.D.; Hattie Bruinsma of Grand Rapids, Mich. Two brothers, Arie and Evert of Sioux Center, also survive are sixteen grandchildren. Mrs. Franken preceded him in death three years ago in January. The Frankens farmed five miles southwest of Sioux Center before they retired and moved to town.
