Everett Franken, May 1, 1915-January 26, 1994

Everett G. Franken, 78, of Sioux Center died Wednesday, January 26, at a hospital in Sioux Center. Services were at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 29, at Central Reformed Church in Sioux Center with the Rev. Mark De Witt officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Franken was born May 1, 1915, in Sioux Center, the son of Gerrit H. and Gertrude (Bosch) Franken. He married Nelvina Kleinhesselink July 1, 1946, at Aurora Center, South Dakota. He owned and operated an electrical business from 1939 to 1966. He then sold the business and worked for the City of Sioux Center until 1979.

He was a member of the Iowa Building Inspectors Association, having served as vice president; Iowa Plumbers Association; Iowa Chapter of Electrical Inspectors; American Legion; First Reformed Church; and Heritage Club at Northwestern College. He was a volunteer fireman for more than 20 years.

Survivors include his wife; two sons and their wives, Gregory E. and Judy of Madison, Wisconsin, and Evan C. and Ronda of Carpenteria, California; two daughters and their husbands, Yvonne and Tom Molinari of Carpenteria and Ramona and Mark Waldrep of Chatsworth, California; five brothers, Dries of Garden Grove, California, Gerrit and Arnold, both of Sioux Center, Howard of Luverne, Minnesota, and Irwin of Denver, Colorado; three sisters, Mrs. Bernard (Grace) Van Batavia of Luverne, Minnesota, Louise Oliver and Mrs. Wilmer (Kathleen) Altena, both of Sioux Center; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Louis.
