MRS. EVERT FRANKEN LAID TO REST

Mrs. Evert Franken passed away at her home in Sioux Center on Friday, Oct. 15 after a short illness. Although she had been ailing for a number of years due to diabetes, death came suddenly after she was ill only a few days.

Mrs. Franken was born at Kedechem, Netherlands on June 21, 1874. She came to America at the age of 32 years and settled in Hull where she worked as nurse at the hospital. After her marriage to Mr. Franken she came to make her home in Sioux Center. She had reached the age of 74 years.

She is survived by two brothers and three sisters: Mrs. Anna Kolderie of Minneapolis, Minn., John Vanden Heuvel of the Netherlands, Tena (Mrs. Ben Fiekema) of Sioux Center, Anna Neline Ter Woolbee of the Netherlands, and Tunis Adrianus Vanden Heuvel, also of the Netherlands. One brother preceded her in death in 1943.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon at the home and at the First Reformed church in Sioux Center. Rev. Peter A. De Jong officiated at the services and burial took place at the local cemetery.
