DIED FROM APPENDICITIS
Orlin E. Baseley Dies Following an Operation.

Orlin E. Baseley died at Granville last Friday night, following an operation for appendicitis. He was operated upon Thursday night by Dr. Cram of Sheldon and his condition was such that medical skill was of no avail. The body was brought to Hawarden for burial and funeral services were held at the Baptist church at 4 o'clock Sunday afternoon, Rev. John Erb, pastor of the church preaching the funeral sermon. Interment took place at Grace Hill cemetery under the direction of the Woodmen of the World, of which order the deceased was an honored member, and in which he carried a policy for $2000. The members of the local lodge attended the funeral in a body.

The deceased was born May 5, 1882, at Wauconda, Ill. On June 2, 1910, he was married to Miss Hazel Moniger, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Moniger of this city. The young couple made their home in Hawarden until last spring when they removed to Granville, where Mr. Baseley took a position in a store. He was well known in Hawarden and for a number of years was a passenger brakeman running west of this city. Besides his wife and a little son only five months old, he leaves a father and mother, seven brothers and four sisters to mourn his death. He had a large circle of friends in Hawarden who extend sincere sympathy to the bereaved ones.
