Mrs. Evelyn J. (VanderArk) Voss, age 98 years of Fremont, Michigan and formerly of Hull, Iowa, went to be with her Lord & Savior on Wednesday evening, June 23, 2010. She was born on January 16, 1912 in Thomson, Illinois to Peter & Celia (Bielema) Balk. She was a retired school teacher. On June 11, 1935 she married Norman VanderArk and he preceded her in death on August 25, 1988. She then married Bernard Voss, MD on June 10, 1989 and he preceded her in death on June 7, 1992. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Ardis VanderArk; her grandson, Rory Vande Creek; brothers Milo & Jake Balk; and by her sister, Undine VanZuiden. Survivors include 3 children: Celia (Larry) VandeCreek of Bozeman, Montana, Nolan (Joey) VanderArk of Denver, Colorado, Glenn (LaDonna) VanderArk of Fremont, Michigan; 8 grandchildren & 18 great grandchildren; and 1 sister, Henrietta Fiet of Fulton, Illinois. A Memorial Service will be held at 4:30 PM on Tuesday, July 20. 2010 at Trinity Christian Reformed Church in Fremont (539 E. Pine Street) with Rev. Larry VandeCreek officiating. Interment will be at Hope Cemetery in Hull, Iowa. There will be no visitation. Suggested Memorial: Providence Christian High School, 5479 W. 72nd Street, Fremont, MI. 49412. .
