Ronald Mulder, 19, Sioux Center,
was killed Nov. 5, by electricity
while working with an I.P.S. crew
erecting a substation southeast of Hull.

Crew members said Mulder was on
the ground guiding a steel I-beam
attached to a crane on a truck when the
I crane came in contact with a
high ten truck were insulated by
the vehicle's rubber tires and escaped
injury. Survivors are his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Y.
Mulder; a brother, Arlyn; and
two sisters, Shirley and Roxena ,
all of Sioux Center. Burial was
Tuesday in Sioux Center.

Another news item:

Ronald Mulder, 20 year old son of
Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Mulder of
Sioux Center, was killed by electricity
while working with the Crawford
Electric Company who are doing
sub-station construction work for
Northwest Iowa Coop.

The accident happened about 10:30
a.m. Friday, November 5, southeast
of Hull.

Crew members said Mulder was on
the ground guiding a steel I –beam
attached to a crane on a truck when
the crane came in contact with a high
tension power line.

Others in the truck were insulated by
the rubber tires on the vehicle and
escaped injury. They applied artificial
respiration until Dr. C. D. Oelrich, a
Sioux Center physician, arrived and
pronounced Mulder dead.

Survivors are his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Ernest Y. Mulder, a brother, Arlyn, and
two sisters, Shirley and Ropena, all of
Sioux Center.

Rev. P. A. De Jong of Pella, Ia. will officiate.
Burial will be in the Sioux Center Cemetery.
