Rites Held for Adolph Wiig, 74.
Resident of Hawarden Following an illness for the past Year.
Adolph Wiig of Hawarden, 74, who had lived with his son since the death of his wife last June, died last Wednesday, October 1. Mr. Wiig had been in failing health for the past year.
Funeral services were held at the Harry W. Christy funeral home in Sioux City last Friday with Rev. W. E. Smith of Lawton officiating. Burial was not until Monday morning as his daughter Mrs. Pearl Pig of Raymond WA did not arrive in time for the services last Friday. Burial was in Graceland Park cemetery in Sioux City.
Mr. and Mrs. Wiig came to Hawarden a number of years ago and located on a farm southwest of Hawarden. Last June 18, Mrs. Wiig died and since that time Mr. Wiig lived with his son. Survivors are the son Gleen of Bronson, and the daughter Mrs. Pig of Roymond WA; two brothers, John of Allen NE, and Olof of LosAngels, and three siters, G. L. Page of Tacoma WA, Mrs. C. W. Phillips of Midland SD, and Paulin Wiig of Cheyenne WY.
Many Hawarden residents attended.
(It has been found that Mr. Wiig was born Oct 4, 1873 in Omaha NE. He may have had two wives)
