Rexford H. "Rex" Truesdell,
86, of Hawarden died Monday,
June 9, 1997, at Hawarden
Community Hospital.

Services were held Wednesday,
June 11 at the Associated
Church in Hawarden, with the
Rev. Randy Knuth officiating.

Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Truesdell was. born Oct.
25, 1910, at Alcester, S.D., to
Edward and Mary (Harding)
Truesdell. He graduated from
the Hawarden High School.

He married Elvina Harker on
Sept. 30, 1934. at Union Creek
Lutheran Church near Akron,
Iowa.

He became a commissioned
Sinclair tank wagon agent in
1934. In 1934 he purchased the
Sinclair Service Station and in
June 1950 he purchased the
Ford dealership. He was
awarded many distinguished
dealer awards.

He was a. member of the
Associated Church, past member
of the Dale Masonic Lodge
#456, the Sioux City Consistory,
the Shrine and the Hawarden
Rotary Club. He was a
charter member of the Big Sioux
River Valley Historical Society.

Survivors include his wife; a
daughter and her husband,
Mary and Jules Johnson of
Hawarden; a brother and his
wife, Myrle and Jane of Le Mars,
Iowa; three sisters; three grandchildren
and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded In death by
a sister, Cleo Bartlett.
