Jacoha, who was known as "Coba", was the daughter of Jacob and Wilhelmina (Ravestein) Van Oort. She was raised at Newkirk. On July 9, 1923, she married Nick Wielenga at
Orange City. They farmed in the Orange City area until the early 1950’s, when they moved into Orange City. In 1979, they became residents of the Heritage House in Orange City. Mr. Wielenga passed away October 31, 1983, at Orange City.
Jacoha was a memberof the First Reformed Church.
Survivors include her daughter and her husband, George and Kathleen De Vries, Jr., of Orange City; two sons, Jack and his wife, Elaine, of Cedar Falls: and Wilton Jan of Stockton, California; six grandchildren, George De Vries III and his wife, Patsy: Nicholas De Vries and his wife, Cynthia; Maria De Vries; Dwight Wielenga; Kristin Wielenga; and Nathan De Vries; and three great-grandchildren; Jessica, Jenny, and Samuel De Vries.
Jacoha was preceded in death by a grandson, Joel De Vries; a premature infant grandson; two brothers, John and Peter Van Oort: and three sisters. Mrs. Edward (Hendrika) Fikse, Effie Van Oort, and Mrs. Adrian (Jennie) Vander Wilt.
