Mrs. Rachel Ling has gone to the bourne from whence no traveller returns. She died MOnday morning at the residence of her daughter, Mr. Peirce Baker, in her 75th year. The funeral services were held in the church at 3 p.m. Tuesday Rev. Kaister officiating. Notwithstanding the bitter cold of Tuesday the church was well filled with the sympathizing neighbors and friends of the bereaved family. The remains were taken on Wednesday to the old home of the family at Franklin Grove IL for intermnet, Mr. and Mrs. Baker accopanying them. All those who know the good lod lady mourn her death sincerely and off condolence to the sorrowing relative.
(Found that this was Rachel Miller born 1817 in Pennsylvania to William Miller 1774-1845 and Jennet Evans 1874-1853. She married James Ling in 1840. Her daughter Melinda Ling b. 1848 died Jan 5, 1919 married Pearson Baker 22 Dec 1884 died 25 May 1931 buried in Pleasant Hill Cemtery at Ireton IA.
