Little Bernice Brooks who has been sick for the past few weeks, died Saturday, aged four years and one month and three days. Her sickness devloped into typhoid fever, and not withstaning the attendance of four of the best physicians in this locality and all that loving friends could do for her, the angel of death claimed her for her own. The funeral services were held Monday at the Thompson home at Sutherland, Iowa. (So must have family at Sutherland)
( Found the death record in the deaths of Sioux County page 46 item 4, the name was given as Bruce but a female age 3 years and one month, died Oct 8, 1892, however parents were not mentioned. In 1885 there was a Geroge M. Brooks 20 living in Reading Township and a Jefferson Brooks 22 living in Reading township both single. There was a Sohprana Brooks died 8 Oct 1896 buried at Pleasant Hill in Ireton. These could be relatives of this small child.
