Mrs. Patricia F. Lutjens, age 71, of Hull, died Saturday, Sept. 15 at Hegg Memorial Hospital in Rock Valley.

Patricia Francee' was born Oct. 16, 1918 at Sioux Center, the daughter of William Arendsen and Mary Spiden Arendsen. She was raised at Sioux Center.

On Oct. 2, 1942 she married Elmer Henry Lutjens at Worthington, Minn. They lived at Rock Rapids until the early 1950s when they moved to Hull. Mr. Lutjens died July 2, 1975 at Sioux Falls, S.D.

In earlier years Mrs. Lutjens had been a country school teacher. Later she was a dietician at Pleasant Acres in Hull for 11 years. Since March of 1985, she has been a resident of the Valley Manor in Rock Valley.

She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Rock Valley and the American Legion Auxiliary in Hull, in which she served as president for several years.

Survivors include her son, Greg of Rock Valley; daughter, Debra of Alton; three grandchildren, Glenn, Rhiannon and Renee; a sister, Geraldine Kroon of North Platte, Neb.; and a brother, Arnold "Bus" Arendsen of Santa Anna, Calif.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Joy Bruins and infant brother, Gene Arendsen.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 18 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Rock Valley with the Rev. James Demke officiating. Interment followed at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, rural Hull, under the direction of the Kraii-Oolman Funeral Home of Hull.
