HENRY C. LANDHUIS FUNERAL SERVICES HERE ON TUESDAY

Funeral services for Henry C. Landhuis, 51, Rock Valley business man, were held here Tuesday afternoon, in the home at 1:30 and at the Methodist church at 2 p.m., with Rev. M. L. Jones officiating. Burial was made at the Valley View cemetery. The Vander Ploeg Funeral Home of Sheldon was in charge of arrangements. He died at his home Friday afternoon, April 11, following a heart attack.

Henry Cornelius Landhuis was born on August 11, 1900, in Vriezenveen, The Netherlands. He came to the United States and directly to Rock Valley in 1926. He was employed as a welder and mechanic at the In't Veld Hardware and the Hessel Roorda machine shop until the war broke out.

He then served in defense work on the west coast for a number of months. At the war's end he returned to Rock Valley, where he has managed the Electric Service company for the past six years.

He married the former Edith Houlton on June 6, 1935 at Ireton, by Rev. G. A. Tyler. Mr. Landhuis was a graduate of the Coyne Electrical school of Chicago.

He is survived by his widow, one brother John of Rock Valley and seven brothers and two sisters living in the Netherlands.

Mr. Landhuis was a member of the Methodist church and the I.O.O.F.

The Valley Male Quartet presented special music at the funeral service in the Methodist church. Pallbearers were F. T. McGill, W. B. Hansen, Hessel Roorda, Neal Jongewaard, Jake Cannegieter and Dick Van Eldik. Honorary pallbearers were Paul Collenbaugh, John C. Dykstra, Herman Schoellerman, Walter Hynes, John Smith, Jr., and Ray Meyer.
