range City-Mrs. Tunis Maassen, 86, of Orange City, died Nov. 2 in a Sioux Center hospital.

Services were held at 10:30 A.M., Nov. 4 in the First Reformed Church of Orange City. The Rev. Raymond Heukelom officiated. Burial was in Sherman Township Cemetery, at Maurice with the Van Etten Funeral Home of Orange City in charge.

Mrs. Maassen, the former Rena Mulder, was born May 30, 1890, in Maurice. She was married (no date given). Mr. Maassen died in 1964.

Survivors include a son, John of Maurice; three daughters, Mrs. Burton (Gertrude) Eisma of Merrill, Mrs. Wally (Henrietta) Muilenburg of Maurice, and Mrs. Elaine Sherman of Lombard, Ill.; 11 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a brother, Ed of Ireton; two sisters, Mrs. John VerMeer of Boyden and Mrs. Gertrude Douma of Orange City.

Mrs. Rena Maassen, 85, of Orange City, Iowa, passed away November 2, 1976 at the Sioux Center hospital after a long illness.

Rena was born May 30, 1891, to Mr. & Mrs. Gerrit Mulder in Orange City. She married Teunis Maassen March 13, 1919. They farmed all their life in the Maurice area until 1954 when they moved to Orange City. Teunis, passed away April 1, 1964.

Rena was also preceded in death by a son, Gerrit, in 1935, and by four brothers and one sister.

Survivors include a son, John of Maurice; three daughters, Mrs. Burton (Gertrude) Eisma of Merrill, Iowa; Mrs. Wally (Henrietta) Muilenburg of Maurice, Iowa; and Mrs. Elaine Sherman of Lombard, Illinois; eleven grandchildren, four great grandchildren; a brother Ed of Ireton; two sisters, Mrs. John Ver Meer of Boyden, and Mrs. Gertrude Douma of Orange City.
