Mrs. John (Maggie) Lyftogt, 96, of Orange City, died Saturday [August 29] in a nursing home at Sioux Center.

Services were Tuesday in the First Christian Reformed Church at Orange City. The Rev. Thomas C. Vanden Heuvel officiated. Burial was in West Lawn Cemetery under direction of the Van Gelder Funeral Home of Orange City.

Mrs. Lyftogt, the former Maggie Mulder, was born Oct. 26, 1884, in the Netherlands. She came to the United States as a young girl. She married John Lyftogt and they made their home in Sioux County. He died June 12, 1964. She had resided at the nursing home the last eight years. Mrs. Lyftogt was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church.

Survivors include nieces and nephews.

NOTE: A news note in the Alton Democrat (Sept. 3, 1981, p. 6) says she was the last surviving member of the Dirk Mulder family.
