September 10, 1920 - June 18, 2010
 
Mr. Henry Peuse, age 89, of Orange City, passed away on Friday, June 18, 2010, at the Happy Siesta Care Center in Remsen.

There will be a funeral service on Tuesday, June 22, at 10:00am, at the First Reformed Church in Orange City. The Rev. Dr. Perry De Groot and the Rev. Stanley Vandersall will officiate. Interment will follow at the West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City. Visitation will be after 4:00pm on Monday, with the family present from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, at the Oolman Funeral Home in Orange City.

Henry was born on September 10, 1920, in rural Maurice, the son of John and Maggie (Roelfson) Peuse. He was raised at Maurice.

On August 20, 1946, he married Harriet June Kleinhesselink in Maurice. They farmed at Maurice for three years and then moved to a farm by Orange City. Besides being a farmer, he worked part-time at the Woudstra Meat Market in Orange City. Later, he was a custodian at the Maurice-OrangeCity Elementary and High Schools. More recently, he was a custodian at Northwestern College in Orange City. Harriet passed away on February 17, 2003, in Orange City, after 56 years of marriage.

Mr. Peuse moved to Happy Siesta on April 27 of this year.

He was a member of the First Reformed Church, where in earlier years he sang in the Men’s Chorus and taught catechism classes.

Survivors include his four children and their spouses, Dr. Harlan and Godbertha Peuse, of Dar-es-salaan, Tanzania; Wanda and Gerry Noordhoek, of Orange City; Gloria and Barry Weber, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and Delwyn and Sharon Peuse, of Lake Tahoe, California; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; a sister, Katie Van Berkum, of Orange City; and four sisters-in-law, Cynthia Peuse, of Orange City; Nelvina Franken, of Sioux Center; Bertha Kleinhesselink, of Orange City; and Annabeth Kleinhesselink, of Mesa, Arizona.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Sarah Den Ouden, Jennie Van Roekel, Minnie Bras, and Mattie Peuse; and three brothers, William, Evert, and John Peuse.
