Walter Larson, 77, Hawarden, died April 17 at the Veterans Hospital in Sioux Falls. Funeral services were held at 1:30 P.M., April 20 at the First Baptist Church in Hawarden, with Rev. Douglas Oelke officiating. Burial was in Gracehill Cemetery, with the Dow Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Larson was born Jan. 7, 1894, in Stratford, Iowa, and moved to Hawarden in 1916. He was a veteran of World War I. He was married to Gladys Heumphreus Jan. 23, 1924, in Hawarden. He was a member o the First Baptist Church, VFW, The American Legion and the Last Man's Club of the Legion.

He is survived by the widow; a daughter, Mrs. Bob Morton of Sioux City, two grandsons, David and Daniel Erickson of Hawarden, two brothers, Oscar and Emil and two sisters, Mrs. Tezkia Carlson and Mrs. Emma Strom, all of Fort Dodge, and a sister, Mrs. Carrier Westling of Alcester, S.D.
