Dick Lammers, 74, of Sioux Center died on Monday, November 23, at Marian Health Center in Sioux City. Funeral services were at First Reformed Church in Sioux Center on Wednesday, November 25. The Rev. Mark DeWitt officiated the service. Burial was at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Sioux Center.

Lammers was born on March 30, 1924, on a farm southwest of Sioux Center. His parents were Henry and Johanna (Westra) Lammers. He attended rural school at Center Number 6 and graduated from Sioux Center Public High School in 1941. He farmed with his father and engaged in custom work for area farmers. On January 13, 1948, he married Adeline Colenbrander in Sioux Center. They moved to a farm southwest of Sioux Center and lived there for 11 years. Then in 1959 they moved to the farm two and one-half miles west of the Million Dollar Corner. They moved to Sioux Center in 1996. He was a member of First Reformed Church in Sioux Center.

Survivors are his wife; a son and his wife, Harlan and Bertha of Maurice; grandsons, Matthew and David; a brother, Stanley and his wife, Nancy, of Sioux Center; sisters, Hermina Richmond of Sioux Center, Nelvina and her husband, Harry Mulder, of Sioux Center, Elizabeth (Betty) and her husband, Elmer Van Wyk of George, and Hendrene Kalsbeck of Sioux Center.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

At the funeral service, music was provided by Donna Den Herder, organist, and Glen and Betty Vermeer, who sang "One Day at a Time" and "My Jesus I Love Thee". Congregational hymns were "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" and "Amazing Grace".

Casket bearers were Dennis Aarsen, Gerald Brummel, Terry Bayer, Mark Carlson, Mike Van Wyk and Stanley Grant Lammers.
