Mae Lamoureux, 89, of Akron, died Monday, October 25, 1993, at the Akron Care Center after a brief illness.
Services will be 10 A.M., Wednesday, October 27, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Akron with Monsignor Gerald Lyon officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery at Hawarden. Visitation was 2 to 8:30 P.M., Tuesday, October 26, with a Scriptural prayer service at 7 P.M., at the Schroeder Funeral Home in Akron.
Mrs. Lamoureux was born July 3, 1904 in Sioux County, the daughter of Peter and Hannah (Westergard) Jepsen. She graduated from Hawarden High School and attended Westmar College and Morningside College. She taught in rural schools in Plymouth and Sioux County and in elementary grades at Ashton, Sergeant Bluff and Westfield. She married Lawrence Lamoureux December 15, 1926, in Akron. They lived in Akron, Hawarden, Sioux City, Boyden and Sheldon. He died in 1962. She retired from teaching in1969, after 36 years, and moved to Akron.
Mrs. Lamoureux was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
Survivors include a sister, Marie McInnis of Akron; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, Julia, Anna, Nellie and Christine; and a brother, Louis.
