Edgar O. Lancaster, 73, of Orange City died Thursday, August 8, at the Orange City hospital.
Services were at 11 A.M., Monday, August 12, at American Reformed Church, Orange City, with the Rev. Marlin Vander Wilt and the Rev. Keith Krebs officiating. Burial was in West Lawn Cemetery.
Lancaster was born September 18, 1917, at Seney. He graduated from LeMars High School and Westmar College. He taught industrial arts and math at Exira, Rockwell City, Ames Naval School, Boone, and from 1949 to 1983 at Maurice/Orange City High School. He was the Orange City parks supervisor.
He was a member of American Reformed Church, where he had been an elder and deacon and taught Sunday school and catechism classes. He was a member of the Orange City Lions Club, the Sioux County Conservation Board, the Orange City Planning and Zoning Board, the Iowa State Education Association and an honorary member of the FFA.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, James H. of Ida Grove and John E. of Madison, Wisconsin; a daughter, Jane M. Grosenheider of LeMars; four brothers, Edwin of Mt. Kisco, New York, George of Kansas City, Missouri, William of Vermillion, South Dakota, and Robert of LeMars; two sisters, Leah Anderson of Aurora, Illinois and Bonnie Shaw of Clarkfield, Minnesota; and four grandchildren.
