John Lammers, 89, of Alton died Thursday [Feb. 2, 1978] at his home near Alton of an apparent heart attack.
Services were at 1:30 p.m. at the First Reformed Church, Orange City, with the Rev. Raymond Van Heukelom and the Rev. Perry Raak officiating. Burial was in the Nassau Township Cemetery near Alton. with the Van Gelder Funeral Home of Orange City in charge.
Mr. Lammers was born Jan. 7, 1889, In Sioux Center. He married Etta Van't Hul Feb. 27, 1913, in Alton. She died Aug. 20, 1976.
He was a mechanic and had been retired for 12 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Cornie (Myna.) Harmelink of Sioux Center and Mrs. Herman (Jennie) Oordt of Orange City; a son. Donald of Alton; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mr. Lammers’ twin, Mrs. Jane Addink of Sioux Center, and Mrs. Alice Franken of Maurice, and Mrs. Johanna Klein of Sioux Center; and two brothers, William of Sheldon and Ralph of Sioux Center.
