LUCKEY RITES HELD MONDAY
Funeral Services Held in Hawarden for Sioux City Woman, Former Resident

Mrs. Nettie Luckey, 78, of Sioux City, formerly of Hawarden, died Saturday [March 4] in a Sioux City hospital after an illness of several weeks.

Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Baptist church in Hawarden with Rev. Leon Nelson officiating. Six grandsons, William E., Leslie, Harry, Malcolm, Don and Charles Kratochvil, were pall bearers. Burial was in Grace Hill cemetery under the direction of the Barnard Funeral service.

Netie [i.e., Nettie] Cooper, daughter of Thomas and Mary Cooper, was born April 11, 1870, near Mt. Ida, Wis. She was one of a family of eight children.

In 1886 she was married to Charley French and to this union were born four children. They are Mrs. Will J. Kratochvil of Hawarden, Will French and Mrs. Eugene Fry of Hot Springs, Ark., and John French of Madison, Wis. The family came west in 1892 and in the spring of that year Mr. French died.

Later she married George Luckey of Calliope and one son, Francis Dewey of Sioux City, was born to this union.

Besides her children she is survived by a sister, Mrs. Grace Slaggett of Fremont, Neb., and a brother, Thos. Cooper, of Onsil, Neb.

Out-of-town relatives and friends who came for the funeral were Don Kratochvil of Brookings, S.D., and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Drusch, Mrs. Edna Bedard, Nels Nelson, George Solomon, Joyce Akers and Adella Hall of Sioux City.
