Mrs. Johana Van der Stoep, born Harbers, died at her home in Orange City March 9th, aged 71 years, after a comparatively short illness. Mrs. Van der Stoep was a much beloved mother and her death, peaceful and resigned as it was, will be sincerely regretted. She came to Pella in 1856, emigrated to Sioux county in 1871 and had been married nearly 49 years. Her death was a sad blow to her aged husband and to the children. The funeral took place Monday and was conducted by Dr. Steffens and Rev. Kolyn.
