MOTHER OF FORMER HAWARDEN EDITOR DIES AT ANTHON

Mrs. A. B. Leonard of Anthon, mother of Mrs. Finley McGrew of Elmhurst, Ill., died Tuesday of last week following a long illness. Mrs. Leonard had suffered several strokes and one which she suffered on Monday of last week proved fatal.

Mrs. Leonard visited in Hawarden many times when Finley McGrew was editor of The Independent.

Funeral services were held last Friday. Survivors are the widower, Dr. A. B. Leonard, a daughter, Mrs. McGrew, and a son, Dr. Bertram Leonard of Yankton, S.D.
