Mrs. David Braastad,28, of San Antonio, Tex., formerly of Alcester died Sunday of injuries suffered in an automobile accident Saturday at Shriner, Texas.

Services were at 2 p.m. Thursday in Nathanael Lutheran Church at Alcester. The Rev. George Metzenthin officiated. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery under direction of the Wass Funeral Home at Alcester.

Mrs. Braastad, the former Joan Thormodsgaard, was born Jan. 8,1951 at Hawarden. She was gratuated from Alcester High School in 1969 and attended a hair styling school in Rapid City. She was married Aug. 9, 1970, at Alcester. The couple lived in Texas most of the time.

Survivors include the widower; one son, Corey at home; her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Thormodsgaard of Alcester and one sister, Mrs. Dennis (Janet)Belkey of Yankton.
