Funeral services were held at the First Reformed Church in Orange City at 1:30 P.M., Tuesday, October 8, for Mrs. Peter Vander Wel, 88, of Orange City, who died October 5 at the Orange City hospital after a brief illness.

Services were conducted by the Rev. Raymond Van Heukelom and burial was made in Sherman Township Cemetery near Maurice.

Mrs. Vander Wel, the former Ida Raak, was born June 8, 1886, at Orange City and was married there January 11, 1912. The couple farmed in the Orange City area until 1958 when they retired and moved to Orange City.

Survivors include the widower; a son, Marvin, of Orange City; two daughters, Mrs. Elmer (Ellen) Muilenburg of Orange City and Mrs. Merle (Edna) Vande Brake of Maurice; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. George (Dena) Mieras of Orange City and Mrs. James (Gertrude) Zevenbergen of Alton, and two brothers, Arie and Peter Raak, both of Orange City.
