Funeral services were held at St. Paul Lutheran Church at Ireton at 2 P.M., December 5 for Walter H. Peters, 69, of Ireton, retired Ireton postmaster, who died December 2 at a Sioux City hospital after a sudden illness.

Services were conducted by the Rev. Dwight Rengstrof and burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Peters was born at Litchville, N.D., October 14, 1906. He married Mildred Johnson on September 1, 1936, at Ireton.

He was employed as clerk at the Ireton postoffice for 10 years and later was postmaster for 27 years before his retirement about five years ago.

He had served the past five years as a church custodian.
