Services Held For Mrs. Frank Bryson

Funeral services for Mrs. Frank (Gertrude) Bryson, 86, were held at 2 p. m. May 5 at the Dow Funeral home with Dr. G. S. Bruland officiating. Vocal soloist was Mrs. Ralph Gregg, Jr., and Mrs. Hal Shoemaker was the organist.

Burial was in Grace Hill cemetery under direction of the Dow Funeral home. Casket bearers included Danny Shedd, Rocky Younie, Loren Bryson, James Younie, Lloyd Youngkin and Scott Younie.

Mrs. Bryson was born December 15, 1880 at Lansing, N. C., a daughter of Thomas and Rosa Eldrith Ham. She came to Hawarden as a young girl and had lived in this area since that time. In 1890 she married Guy Wood, who died April 17, 1901. Later she married John Bryson and he died in 1915. On June 20, 1920 she was married to Frank Bryson, who preceded her in death July 28, 1964. She was also preceded in death by one son, Coy Wood, who
died December 14, 1961.

Mrs. Bryson was a member of the Methodist church and the Royal Neighbors lodge.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Arnold (Ethel) Shedd of Hawkeye, Iowa, and Mrs. C. T. (Mabel) Youngkin of Hawarden; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
