Fred Emil Oltmanns, 92, of Le Mars, IA, died on Tuesday, May 21, 1996, at Plymouth Manor in Le Mars after a short illness. Services were held on Friday afternoon, May 24, 1996, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Le Mars, where he was a member, the Reverend Gary Landness officiating. Burial was in Le Mars Memorial Cemetery under the direction of the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars.

Mr. Oltmanns was born January 25, 1904, in Grant Township, Plymouth County, IA, the son of Carl and Tina (Pageler) Oltmanns. He married Rose Popken on January 5, 1927, in Craig, IA, and the couple farmed in the Le Mars area before retirement to Le Mars.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter and her husband, Barbara and Willard Utech of Le Mars; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
