George Ehlers Died in Chicago

Another former resident of Ireton has gone to his long rest in Tinley Park, Chicago, at a ripe old age. George Ehlers passed away at 6:15 Saturday morning at the advanced age of 80 years. Funeral services were held Tuesday.

George Ehlers was born in Marshalltown January 17, 1860, and was married to Fanny Wolken. They lived in Paullina for twenty years and at Struble for seven years and then came to Ireton and Mrs. Ehlers passed away here in 1921. He went to Chicago 17 years ago when he married again.

He is survived by his wife and eight children. The children are Mrs. Bert Goodmanson, Ireton; Mrs. John Morrison, Sioux City; Mrs. L. M. Goodmanson, Paullina; Harry Ehlers, Craig; Charles, Ireton; Mrs. Henry Puck, Spring Valley, Minn.; Mrs. Alex Schwiederski, who resides in California and Ernest Ehlers, Modesto, Calif. There are also 21 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
