SIBLEY - Edwin Gerrit Kleinwolterink, 75, Sibley, died Thursday, May 19, 2005 at Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley, IA.Services were Monday, May 23, at Christian Reformed Church in Sibley, with the Rev. David Van Buren officiating. Burial was at East Lawn Cemetery in Sheldon, under the direction of Walton-Roste Funeral Home in Sibley. Edwin Kleinwolterink, son of Henry and Marie (Lems) Kleinwolterink, was born July 31, 1929, in Sheldon. He was raised on the family farm near Sheldon. He attended country school and then Sheldon High School. He helped his father with the farming and entered the Iowa National Guard.He married Emilene "Clem" Faber in 1954 at First Christian Reformed Church in Orange City, IA. They started their family in the Sheldon area, where they owned and operated a dairy farm.They moved in 1960 to Sibley, where he worked with Farm Bureau as an insurance agent until 1976. They were in partnership with his brother Henry, manufacturing Stand-Aids. During this time they enjoyed traveling across the country. In retirement they operated a vending business. He was a member of Christian Reformed Church in Sibley and the Saturday morning Bible Study group and served on the Christian School Board. He also was active with the Alcoholics Anonymous program.Gardening and cooking were his favorite pastimes. He took pride in his well-groomed lawn, beautiful flower beds and wonderful garden. He also loved to bake bread and was an excellent cook. He enjoyed sharing his bread and flowers with family and friends. He also was an avid snooker and pool player.Survivors include his wife, Emilene Kleinwolterink of Sibley; two sons, Bradley Kleinwolterink of Sibley, and David E. and Donna Kleinwolterink ofSibley; eight grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; a brother, Myron and Marilyn Kleinwolterink of Sheldon; a sister, Lorna and Bernie Reiriders of Orange City; and a sister-in-law, Norma Kleinwolterink of Sheldon. He was preceded in death by a brother, Henry Kleinwolterink; an infant brother; and a son, Barry Kleinwolterink.
