Roger H. Walter Dies At Lincoln

Roger Hale Walter, oldest son of Raymond and Maude Youngkin Walter, for many years a resident of Hawarden, died February 2 at the Veterans hospital at Lincoln, Nebraska

He graduated from high school at Hawarden, moved to Denver following World War II and had lived in Lincoln the past ten years. In World War II he fought in the North African campaign and entered the European theater on D-Day. He was the holder of the Silver Star and the Purple Heart, in addition to his campaign ribbons. Burial was on February 5 in Lincoln Memorial cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Marce Walter; a son, Charles Raymond; a daughter, Linda Kay; a brother, Laurence Walter of Lindsay, Calif., and a sister, Mrs. Arlo Boucher of Marshalltown, Iowa. His parents preceded him in death.

He was the nephew of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Arter of Sterling, Neb., who attended the funeral services with their sons, Dean of Lincoln, and Robert of Denver, and their daughter, Mrs. W. E. Dingley of Denver.
