Mrs. Tracy Keizer, age 96, of
Alton, died Thursday, Oct. 4 at the
Oak Park Care Center in Sheldon.
Tracy was born Dec. 15, 1893 at
Alton, the daughter of Cornelius
Sorgdrager and Mary Sol
Sorgdrager. She was raised in
Alton.
On March 12, 1913, she married
Peter Keizer at Alton. They farmed
at Alton, except for several years
when they farmed in Plymouth
County. In 1936 they moved into
Alton. Mr. Keizer died Dec. 23,
1962 at Alton.
In 1982 Mrs. Keizer became a
resident of the Northwest Iowa
Health Center in Sheldon.
She was a member of the Alton
Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her two
daughters, Dorothy and Her husband
Marshall Rees of LeMars, and
Ethel Noack of Sheldon; a son,
Lewis and his wife Fern of Sioux
City; 12 grandchildren; 26 greatgrandchildren
and nine great-greatgrandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she
was preceded in death by her son-inlaw,
Jerry Noack; and six brothers,
Ed, John, Harry, Casey, Lynn and
Robert Sorgdrager.
Funeral services were held Saturday,
Oct. 6 at the Alton
Presbyterian Church with the Rev.
Rick Kargard and the Rev. Robert
Vander Schaaf officiating. Interment
followed at Nassau Township
Cemetery near Alton, under the
direction of the Van Etten-Oolman-
Van Gelder Funeral Home of
Orange City.
