Kayla Hoefakker, 21, of Sioux Falls, formerly Rock Valley, died Sunday Feb. 14, 2010 of an apparent natural cause at her home in Sioux Falls. Funeral 2 pm Thursday at Netherlands Reformed Church, Rock Valley. Burial at Valley View Cemetery. Rev. Hofman will officiate. Visitation with family 6:30-8:30 pm Wednesday at Porter Funeral Home, Rock Valley. Memorials may be directed to Netherlands Reformed Christian School. www.porterfuneralhomes.com
Kayla Michele daughter of Teunis and Ruth (Rozeboom) Hoefakker was born February 24, 1988 at Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She grew up on a farm near Rock Valley and graduated from the Netherlands Reformed Christian School in 2006. Kayla graduated from Southeast Technical Institute at Sioux Falls in 2007 and was a pharmacy technician working at Sanford Medical Center and also she worked part-time at a Subway restaurant.
Survivors include parents, Teunis and Ruth Hoefakker of Rock Valley; brothers Thomas (Sandra) Hoefakker of Canton, Mark (Monica) Hoefakker of Grand Rapids, MI; grandparents, William and Jacoba "Jackie" Rozeboom of Inwood, IA; six nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by an infant brother, Steven Hoefakker; grandparents, Henry R. and Clazina Hoefakker.
