JEAN I. BOOTH
Cherokee, Iowa; Jean I. Booth, 76, of Cherokee died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002, at a Sioux City hospital following a lengthy illness.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Presbyterian Church in Cherokee, with the Rev. Dee Jay Reiff officiating.Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today, with the family present 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee.
Jean was born Feb. 1, 1926, in Orange City, Iowa, to Thomas and Dena (Van Oort) Geselschap. She graduated from Orange City High School.
She was married to Clifford Booth on June 19, 1945, in Orange City. The couple had been married for 56 years. Jean had done housework for various families in Cherokee for many years. Her home was at 120 Colony Drive, having lived in Cherokee since 1949.
She was a member of Memorial Presbyterian Church, Naomi Circle and a 37-year member of Rebekah Lodge, where she held various offices. She enjoyed gardening, reading and working as a volunteer at Countryside Estates.
Survivors include her husband, Clifford; a daughter and her huband, Diana and Chris Coco of Carlisle, Iowa; a son Lonnie Booth of Clearwater, Fla,; three grandchildren, Christian and Gabriel Coco and Lashun Robertson; a brother and his wife, Thomas and Elaine Geselschap of Bella Vista, Ark,; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother.
