Jerone J. "Joe" Calsbeek, 57, died Monday afternoon, July 30, 1979, from an apparent heart attack while working.
Joe was born August 23, 1921, at Rock Valley, Iowa, the son of Jacob and Martha Calsbeek. On June 17, 1943, he married Iva Wiersma, and they resided in Orange City, where Joe was employed by Sioux County, working in the sign department.
Joe was a member of the First Reformed Church of Orange City, where he was a Sunday school teacher for many years. He was also an active member of the Siouxland Blood Bank.
Survivors include the widow; two daughters, Mrs. Junior (Jeralyn) De Yager of Inwood, and Mrs. Randy (Belvia) Goedken of Orange City; two sons, Conrad of Milo, Iowa, and Bradley of Orange City; eight grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Gerald (Fan) Vande Brake of Orange City.
