Mr. Cornelius J. Stegink, 64, died Saturday at the University Hospital in Iowa City, after a lingering illness.
He was born on September 29, 1919, in Downs, Kansas, the son of Albert and Nellie Stegink. He married Fran Kalsbeek on Dec. 27, 1944 in Denver, Colo. They moved to Orange City in 1948. He was in the radio, TV and sound business for 39 years.
He was a member of American Reformed Church, where he served as elder and deacon and was sound technician for the church. He served on the Tulip Festival Steering Committee for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Fran; three daughters, Mrs. Wade (Linda ) Gilkey of Saline, Mich., Dorene of Ann Arbor, Mich. and Lorene of Mount Vernon, Wash.; a son, Robert of Ann Arbor, Mich.; one brother, Aaron of Denver, Colo.; a sister, Mrs. Doris Reardon of Dillon, Colo.; two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
