Katherine Schuiteman passed away early Tuesday morning in Sioux Center at the age of 88 years. She was born on November 12, 1908, at Orange City to Jacobus and Gertrude (Bonnes) Hofland. On February 14, 1928, in Orange City, she was married to Arthur A. Schuiteman who preceded her in death on December 14, 1949, at the age of 45 years. She was a member of the First Reformed Church and active in the ladies society.
She is survived by four daughters and their spouses: Gertrude and Marion Rozeboom; Arta and Marvin Schoep; Rosalie and Marvin Prins - all of Sioux Center; and Ruth and Ivan Mulder of Pelia, Iowa. She is also survived by nineteen grandchildren, thirty-six great-grandchildren, and the following sisters and brother: Elsina, Mrs. Henry Bos of Hartley; Angeline, Mrs. Gerrit Horstman of Sanborn; Gertrude, Mrs. John Jacobs of Orange City; and Elmer Hofland of Orange City. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Wilma, Mrs. Theran Mulder; one infant son, James Gerben; three brothers and one sister.
