HULL, Iowa — Frank Vogel, 86, of Hull died Saturday, Aug. 5, 2000, at Pleasant Acre Care Center.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Protestant Reformed Church in Hull, with the Rev. Steven R. Key officiating. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m today, with family present from 7 to 8:30 p.m., at Oolman Funeral Home in Hull. Mr. Vogel was born July 24, 1914, in Orange City, Iowa, the son of Albert and Sadie (Hoekstra) Vogel. He was educated in Bigelow, Minn., and Sheldon (Iowa) Christian Schools. He married Margaret Jennie Bomgaars March 19, 1940. He worked on a farm near Rock Valley. The couple moved to Orange City where he owned and operated a feed grinding business for 22 years. In 1967 they moved to Hull where he drove truck, worked at Kooiker Manufacturing, was the maintenance man at Pleasant Acres and drove school bus. He retired in 1976. In January 1998, he became a resident at Pleasant Acres. He was a member of Protestant Reformed Church. He enjoyed traveling.
Survivors include his wife; three sons and their wives, Al and Gwen of George, Iowa, Arnold and Thelma of Shoreline, Wash., Norm and Wilma of Hull; a daughter and her husband, Fran and Rog De Kruyf of Boyden, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and four sisters, Grace Buren of Sheldon, Tillie Brummel of Edgerton, Minn., Martha De Jong and Tina Leusink, both of Hull.
He was preceded in death by two grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
