Mrs. John "Nellie" Van Peursem was born November 14, 1899 at Maurice, Iowa to Mr. and Mrs. Henry G. Brink. She married John Van Peursem May 10, 1920. Together they farmed at Maurice from 1920 to 1932; at Merrill, Iowa from 1932 to 1942, and back to Maurice until they retired in 1961. Her husband preceded her in death on April 29, 1972.
She is survived by three children, Mrs. Ivan (Blanche) Schultz of Swanville, Minnesota, Russell Van Peursem of Maurice, Iowa, and Mrs. Amy Heusinkveld of Melborn Beach, Florida; thirteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
