WILMYNA PENNINGS
ORANGE CITY, Iowa -Wilmyna Pennings, 93, of Orange City died Tuesday, March 5. 2002, at Orange City Municipal Hospital.Services will be 10:30 am. Friday at First Christian Reformed Church in Orange City, with the Rev. Timothy Ouwinga officiating. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. today, with the family present 6:30 to 8 p.m., at Oolrnan Funeral Home in Orange City. Wilmyna was born July 23, 1908, in rural Orange City, the daughter of Henry and Mathilda (Mouw) Pennings. She was raised in Orange City. In earlier years, she assisted many families when they would have a new baby. Later, she was employed in the food service department at Northwestern College in Orange City for 30 years. Miss Pennings made her home in Orange City. She lived in her own house until October 1995, when she moved to the Pioneer Memorial Home. In September 2001, she became a resident of Orange City Municipal Hospital Long Term Care Facility.She was a lifetime member of First Christian Reformed Church, where she helped with the Sunday School. She belonged to various societies and was currently a member of the Faith, Hope and Love Society. Wilmyna volunteered countless hours at the local Christian schools. She enjoyed traveling and visited many areas of the country. Survivors include a sister and her husband, Helen and Raymond Anderson of Kalamazoo, Mich.; five brothers and their wives, Lawrence and Marthann Pennings of Blomkest, Minn., and Gerrit and Irene Pennings, Clarence and Henrietta Pennings, Milton and Judy Pennings and Harold and Evelyn Pennings, all of Orange City; a brother-in-law, William Nibbelink of Orange City; a sister-in-law, Margaret Pennings of Kalamaioo, Mich.: and many nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by four brothers, Adrian, Henry James, Engelbert and Wilbur Pennings: six sisters, Adrianna Nibbelink, Edna Fedders, Gertrude Pennings, Mathilda Deur, Harriet Pennings and a sister in infancy.
