ORANGE CITY. Iowa-- Ann Boonstra Noteboom, 103, of Orange City passed away Sunday. June 22, 2003, at Heritage House Nursing Home in Orange City.Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Christian Reformed Church in Orange City, with the Rev. Timothy Ouwinga officiating. Burial will be prior to the service Wednesday in Sherman Township Cemetery, near Maurice, Iowa. There will be a family prayer service at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday at Oolman Funeral Home in Orange City. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.Ann was born May 11, 1900, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Rudolph J. and Agnes (Kuiken) Extra. She moved to Orange City with her family when she was a teen-ager.On Feb. 27, 1920, she married Dick Henry Boonstra in Orange City. They lived in Sioux Center, Iowa, until 1928, when they moved to Maurice. Mr. Boonstra passed away April 20, 1935, in Maurice. ln 1941 she returned to Orange City.On Oct. 4, 1951, she married Arie C. Noteboom in Orange City. They farmed in Middleburg, Iowa, until 1956, when they moved into Orange City. Mr. Noteboom passed away May 28, 1968. in Orange City.In November 1978, she became a resident of Pioneer Memorial Home in Orange City.In October 1997, she transferred to Heritage House. She was a homemaker and also a laundress at Orange City Municipal Hospital and in private homes. She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed doing handwork. She was a member of First Christian Reformed Church, Ladies Zangkoor and the Monica Society. At the age of 97, she crocheted a cloth for the communion table in her church. Survivors include her six children, Harold Boonstra and his wife, Ann of Orland Park, Ill., Robert Boonstra and his wife, Myrna, Norman Boonstra and his wife, Velma, Lois and her husband, Frank Vogel, Mary Ellen and her husband, Vernon Mouw, and Rudolph Boonstra, all of Orange City; six stepchildren. Thomas Noteboom and his wife, Elinor, Peter Notehoom and his wife, Leona, Luetta Oolman and Vernon Noteboom and his wife, Carol, all of Orange City Arie Noteboom Jr. and wife, Mary of Alton, Iowa, and Ronald Noteboom and his wife, Joanne of Orange City; 18 grandchildren: 25 step-grandchildren: 43 great-grandchildren; 81 great-step-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-step-grandchildren; and a sister, Agnes Rasmussen of Fort Worth, Texas.In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by a step-daughter-in-law, Bernice Noteboom; a step-son-in-law, Glenn Oolman: a step-granddaughter: and six brothers and sisters. Dora, Nell, Rose, Jack. Minnie and Martha.
