ORANGE CITY, Iowa - Lorenz Austin "Butch" Mouw, 63, of Orange City died of cancer Monday, May 27, 1996, at his home. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the American Reformed Church in Orange City with the Rev. Harlan Van Oort officiating. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. today, with the family present 5 to 6:30 p.m., at VanEtten-Qolman-VanGelder Funeral Home in Orange City. Mr. Mouw was born May 31, 1932, in Orange City, the son of Herman L. and G. June (Owens)Mouw. He graduated from Orange City High School in 1950 and attended Northwestern Junior College. On Dec. 26, 1951, he married Shirley Olivier at Central Reformed Church in Sioux Center. He was in the meat and grocery business, most recently as dairy manager at Southtown Foods in his semi-retirement. He served with the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War andwas a 40 year member of Pressman-Kosters American Legion Post. Survivors include his wife; a son, Lance and his wife, Jane, of Clinton, Mo.; a daughter and her husband, Michele and Doug Schuver of Granville; a foster daughter and her husband, Pam and Jim Bork of Sioux Falls, S.D.; grandchildren, Brittany Baily Mouw and Christopher, Daniel and Matthew Schuver; foster grandchildren, Emily, Hilary and Thomas Bork; a brother-in-law, Adrian De Haan of Piano, Texas, and a brother, Roger Mouw and his wife, Betty, of Hospers. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Ann in infancy; his parents, and a sister, Karen M. De Haan.
